What is the fastest way to a Hollywood smile? Veneers can make your smile perfect in very little time.
Veneers will allow you to reshape your smile and make each tooth in your smile look good.
What is a Veneer?
You might have heard of wood veneers which are pieces of thin decorative wood placed over lower quality wood to make it look better. The concept is similar for teeth. Your teeth are shaped and reduced slightly to allow for a veneer to be fitted over them. The number of veneers you have done is up to you but the top front 4 teeth are typically the most common.
Cost of Veneers
Since only the highest quality veneers are used at Hoyt Dental the fluctuation in price is due to the size and difficulty of each tooth. Typical cost of veneers can be anywhere from $500-$1200 per tooth. The results of veneers are stunning.
Veneers vs. Crowns
While both veneers and crowns are cemented onto your teeth after they’ve been prepped, the main difference is that a crown covers the whole tooth whereas a veneer just covers the front. Veneers fit on the front of the and cup the tip of the tooth. Crowns require more preparation and result in your tooth becoming a small nub on which the crown is placed. Veneers don’t require so much of the tooth to be reduced as the veneer doesn’t cover the whole surface area of the tooth.
The difference between veneers and crowns lends them to different circumstances. Crowns are typically used on back teeth while veneers are used on front teeth. Crowns can be placed on any tooth however, not many cases outside of root canals, dental implants or broken teeth require crowns. Veneers are used only for aesthetics and consequently reserved for the front teeth.
Benefit of Veneers
You can straighten your teeth, you can whiten them and you can shape them but the shortcut to all of that is having veneers done. You can have straight, white, perfect teeth in just a matter of a couple visits to the dentist. Veneers are the fastest way for stunning results and are typically a makeover type of solution.
Cosmetic Crowns
In some cases when teeth are broken or fractured in the front, crowns are necessary to replace them. The best way to make your smile perfect again is to replace any broken or fractured teeth with porcelain crowns. Modern crowns made of porcelain don’t have any discoloration like metal crowns used to. In fact, you can help choose the shade you’d like your smile to have (whiter or a lot whiter) depending on any whitening you will do.
Teeth that are too crooked to be corrected with veneers can be corrected with crowns. If your teeth are less straight than can be fixed with veneers then crowns can be done on the front teeth. You can in fact have a perfect smile without braces by shaping your teeth for crowns.
